LEOPARD photo hunt & lion mother with cubs. How close do you want it?
If you have never been on a real Safari than this is a close as you can get with the Leopard. Is 50centimeter close enough? You must not be scared most big 5 predators especially the cats see you and your other 6-12 friends on your Safari jeep as ONE BIG OTHER animal that has and never will attack . So they simply ignore the whole of you. Especially when they are on a hunt. They are so focused they only thing they think of is the scent of the path. Wether you are just next to it they could not care less. This fully grown beautiful specimen of a female Leopard was a typical example. She walked calmly around us for +- 2 hours non stop, sat down thinking watching everything but us then walking again. If she went further we followed quietly and stopped again. She could have jumped up the jeep many times into my lap or bite the rangers leg off etc...but nothing happend I wish then we had a 10MP cameras but it was only 4MP ...and the zoom with all the grass helped nothing.
THE LION MOTHER & her CUBS. Just minutes after we finally stopped watching the leopard we stumbled ( or shall I say disturbed) a lioness with her cubs who was resting in the high grass. We stood still for while watching while she decided that she will take the cubs more to further safety. Although on Safaris one can follow the big five off track. When there are cubs one is supposed to either move away or give them the space to move on. We were so lucky to see these cut little lion cubs in the wild just for a few minutes. It was so cute to observer how, after a while she sat up, looked around sat down again. The as a good mother after a while got up again and with a few sounds ordered all the cubs to order like telling them. "ok let's move on too many people invading our privacy. And off they went without any disturbance following mom's tail.
