My favorite pets and animal moments in no particular order
Hey it all started with wanting a section with all "our" favorite pets. But then there are the best friends pets and then there are the aaaaaaaaadorable pets you meet on the street and then there are these 'a little sad" and so willing Zoo pets..Lets say every human's pet although I am not a Zoo lover but found that the Johannesburg Zoo is probably the most human & animal friendly. All my pets always were/are and will be adopted, rescued never purchased. The first sets of pics will have the name of the Pet so you'll know who I have and had a special relationship with. Most lived with us bus some are dear partners of friends. So I ended up putting them all in one gallery. Obviously if you like cats and dogs they make up the majority in this gallery. If you notice that one special one is being repeatedly shown than he/she is was one of ours. "Bella" the Poodle seems to be a favorite in several countries with many people. Never met more " Bellas' than any other type they seem to come into my life. Here are a few links just so pinpoint our own pets. Then there is "Gyzmo" the sweetest and cutey Pekingese Poodle you ever have met now age +-10.
"Bella" now +-19 the Maltese cross Fox Poodle with her best friend the jet black "Ebony" now+- 12 the Dachshund cross 5% black Lab one of my lifetime favorite. Oh well there are so many favorites like "Justice" the Ridgeback who sadly passed on within hours of an undetected Cancer of the Spleen at age six, joining his friend the tabby "Wiscat" who I offered his last year of peace battling his health ordeal surrounded by love.
"Tilly" the red lipped aquatic water turtle rescued from 27 years in an Oil drum surrounded by a wall limiting her life to 1m2. The funny thing we we go her we put her in the Koi pond, must have felt like an ocean to her. But then one day I saw her literally snipping baby Kois in two. So that was not a good choice as the cost of each Koi. So we build and moved her to her personal Spa with waterfall, under water cave for peace and quite hibernation and her personal island sunbathing platform.

Day 7000 of my captivity.. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Mmmm what shall I call them?..Mmmm I can't write that here. There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...............
From page 23-28 I add some picture of the Johannesburg Zoo that I support every year with a donation. I believe the animals here are very well kept and space is NOT at a premium and it is way to learn about the animal kingdom. Especially in this new South Africa there are many who do not have the funds yet to travel and discover the animals in the wild. It seems they are only viewable to those with deep pockets in luxurious Safari camps. But we have to admit this keeps the rest of wilderness animals healthy and alive and cared for.
