My Fashion Show Brussels Belgium
My 1st Couture Salon called " VS for Scruples" (as the book by Judit Krantz) in the Gallery Louise, Brussels, Belgium between YSL and Chanel. I was manager for YSL before that and my female partner for Chanel. All was Couture hand crafted dresses, hand knotted non animal fur coats, hand painted prints and Couture "Crepe de Chine" silks from Biancini Ferrier Italy (popular supplier for Chanel and many other Couture houses in Europe then). We used exquiste iridescent silk Taft, and hand knitted jacquard dresses, twin set in silk, lace and wool. Alcantara coats. We used down to earth models on purpose to fit our clients of all ages. Note my Grand mother in the crowd and my partners white hand pleated silk chiffon Dobby with silver damask. Also would like to refer to my favorite partner in my work then my assistant from Brazil, Lucigna who kept our work upbeat with Samba in the years of "Lansa Perfume" our hymne of the year. Her husband was on of the senior ballet dancers of Maurice Bejart and worked with Noureef etc. She was a tremendous networked and together our international background touched customers were from Belgium, Europe, USA Japan. We were slightly cheaper than YSL and CHANEL couture who were our Couture Salon neighbors.
I sold numerous dresses to several couture retailers in Los Angles aroudn Rodeo Drive and on Little Santa Monica and made several private in house shows in LA .
This shows happend at the Funny Horse one of the leading private members club in town who owners wife was our client (black dress in Taft). Models then were Mary Claire from Mauritius, Dominique from Belgium, Myriam from Belgium, and sadly the striking model from New York (with short hair) who's name I cannot recall, sorry and one of the lesser young ladies. "Jean Paul Gaultier" started later on using mature models to show not everyone has to be 18 to be on a catwalk. So my concept was novel. Our senior Model was Canadian, she had " the walk and charisma for 20" and was then a socialite good for our business. She was able to sell while walking and a real person that our clients related to.
Sadly I did not take these pictures myself and not all the shots are from the greatest angles.
